After five days of work in large teams, the first model of the book is complete. It then passes during weekends in January, February and March 1973, in the hands of a group of fifteen "masons" as there is still a huge job: just read, sift the first draft, and scrap "sink "all for it takes; to emphasize throughout the book thread, choose titles, photos...

This book was not "answered" sheltered from storms by a lone illustrates locked in his room. He was born in five days this winter under the fingers fifty young workers: metal workers, plumbers, laborers of the shoe, masons, cable installers, teachers, shop assistants, teachers, took a week off to collectively write a parcel of their experience. The idea of the book germinated from the first working weekends in Métabief in June 1972:
They build themselves a cottage, the CLEY workers must successfully write their own history. We did not measure the difficulties of writing a book from A to Z. For we must fight tooth and nail for the boys agree to let go of the trowel or wire strippers to force himself to write. Their hands are more used to the tools that pen. Yet the price of a continual effort, and under the impulse of the most determined activists, the book gradually becomes reality.
Each day of July, August and September, one of the young of the site was to write at all costs, on a large notebook, the summary of the day, the highlights, the progress of work, discussions.
And at Christmas, screened, cut, arranged by chapters, remodeled, these summaries, three heavy books were the "sand and gravel" of the book. We must then wipe away a new obstacle: the incomprehensible phrases, abstract words, in short the stereotypical style that clutters like big stones, the prose of "comrades".

Les annés 60
In 1960, the movement Youth Camping, born in Nice fifteen years earlier, escapes a sunny window in the French Riviera. He moved to Paris and became the National Federation recreational clubs and youth action April 23, 1962.
Fifty-five sections and drop-off points across France gather and coordinate to open the Mediterranean to the youth of the world.
But the events of the decade rush: the Algeria war yéyé phenomenon, miners’ strike, Vietnam Cultural Revolution in mainland China, May 68 ... The C.L.A.J.are more or less same in all the vicissitudes of the time.
White elephant in the parterre of major national organizations, they have to assume an original dual purpose: that of national youth movement and the emanation of neighborhood groups and bands. Wedged between the natural environment, youth spontaneity and willingness to create a Labour youth movement, the FN C.L.A.J. reached its peak and the beginning of the erosion in these years of technocratic modernization.

The Battle of Leisure time
We know the C.L.A.J. by the snow stays, in Métabief or Allos, at Rochejean at Alpe d'Huez; by holidays at the seaside in Nice or Brittany; and passing by Paris at the Relais de Poissy…
We know the buddies GRTP, the efforts made since 1979 for the cultural emancipation of the working classes ...
The team C.LA.J. G.R.T.P. undertook to summarize the 50s. With original texts, supporting photographs.
These are the times to start the association. They can grip the thread of this original group, born from groups of districts and divisions within institutionalized movements, to find there the face of the working class and the youth united fraternally.
This alliance of the 50s allowed the material realization of International Youth Relay, became crossroads, drop points where exchange and to weave friendships, fellowship, "networks" that still dream of a company and fraternal, open to the outside.

Part of Nice, this action extends across our country and soon crosses borders. Activities that leave young people's lives, their needs, their aspirations: international meetings, ski camps, mountain walks, bike rides, football matches, are an opportunity to flourish, to take our leisure hands.
From the suburbs, colleges or workshops, young people are happy to live together.
